Homeless in Melbourne

The bio-cocoon is a textile we have created which is designed to make the bio-cocoon out of. The problem which we are aiming to help solve and aid are the sleeping situations of the homeless rough sleepers in Melbourne's CBD. We are aiming to also expand to the entire of Australia's rough sleeper population which is currently about 8000 people.

ORGANISATIONS

Various organisations are currently working for the rough sleeping and homeless population in Australia. They have their existing systems and services that are already established as a network. We target to plug-in our solution into this existing network to make things simple and efficient.

POTENTIAL END USERS

However, this innovative hydrophobic textile has incredible potential when it comes to textiles and the world of textiles. It has the potential to be used within the outdoor gear and wear industry, within jackets, coats, tops, bottoms, socks, shoes and everything in between. As well as gear like outdoor chairs, covers, tents etc. As an innovative new textile, we think there is so much potential for growth and support of new natural fibres and textiles such as this one!
